Frequently asked

Do I really need an MPE controller?

Yes, honestly. Every Quiver plugin is built around per-note expression - pressure, slide, pitch bend, strike, lift - from the first line of code. Without an MPE controller (Osmose, Push 3, Seaboard, LinnStrument, Continuum) the plugins load and make sound, but every dial that should breathe under your fingers sits still. That's not the product. If you don't have an MPE controller, the catalogue isn't built for you yet.

What's MPE and why is it the point?

MPE - MIDI Polyphonic Expression - sends pitch, pressure, and timbre independently for every note you hold, instead of one shared value for the whole keyboard. Played on hardware like the Osmose or Push 3, it feels less like programming sound and more like playing it. Quiver exists because almost no plugins on the market actually take advantage of that. We make the plugins we wanted, for the controllers we already use.

Which OS and DAWs are supported right now?

Today's supported configuration is macOS on Apple Silicon (M1 or newer), running in Ableton Live 12. That's the only combination we've fully tested. Bitwig Studio, Reaper, and other MPE-aware VST3 / AU hosts on Apple Silicon should work but are not yet covered. Windows and Intel Macs are on the roadmap, not yet supported. The supported set will widen as each host gets a full pass; we'd rather ship a narrow configuration that works than promise everything.

What about Logic Pro?

Synths (String, Reach, Carve) should work as instruments in Logic, but this is not yet test-covered. Audio effects (Lash, Cast, Frame) cannot receive MPE in Logic because the host doesn't route per-note expression to effect tracks. This is a Logic limitation, not a plugin limitation; we'll lift the warning the day Apple changes it.

How are license keys delivered?

Immediately, by email, from Lemon Squeezy after checkout. The key activates the plugin on first launch over a one-time online check; after that the plugin stays activated offline.

Can I install on more than one machine?

Yes. A single license covers every machine you own - laptop, studio desktop, secondary writing rig. Don't share the key with other people.

Is there a trial?

No. The 14-day money-back policy (see refunds) covers buying and trying - install it, play with it, refund if it doesn't fit. No restocking fee.

What's your refund policy?

14 days from purchase, no questions. Reply to your Lemon Squeezy receipt and the refund goes through. EU statutory rights apply on top.

Where do I report a bug?

Email hello@quiver.audio with: your OS, your DAW and version, your MPE controller, and a short description of what happened. Screenshots help. Crash reports help more.

System requirements

Operating system

macOS on Apple Silicon (M1 or newer). Intel Macs and Windows are planned, not yet supported.

DAW

Tested in Ableton Live 12. Bitwig Studio, Reaper, and other MPE-aware VST3 / AU hosts should work but are not yet covered by our test pass. Logic Pro: see the MPE question above.

Controllers

Built for Osmose, Push 3, Seaboard, LinnStrument, Continuum, and any other controller that speaks the MPE spec. A standard MIDI keyboard will load the plugin and play notes, but the entire point of the catalogue is the per-finger gesture.

Formats

VST3 and AU on macOS. AAX is planned for a later release.
